Baltimore City voters reject cutting the size of city council by six seats

BALTIMORE – Voters rejected cutting Baltimore’s City Council from 14 to eight. More than 60% of voters said no to the ballot Question H.
Some city leaders told WJZ that the decrease in the number of council members would make it more difficult for residents to have their voices heard.
Baltimore City council President-elect Zeke Cohen argued that the change could lead to chaos in City Hall.
Members of the group Baltimore for Democracy told voters that if the question passed, residents across the city would have less representation.
